Graphic Designer

As a member of the Sales and Marketing team, the Graphic Designer is responsible for translating ideas and concepts into visual masterpieces, Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, they will support the delivery and execution of creative marketing assets for the medical and recreational businesses of AgMedica. While abiding by company policies and following regulation, the Graphic Designer will work closely with the marketing team to create awareness about the AgMedica brand and assist to create materials and education that appeal to our target audience.


Major Duties:

• Always adhere to AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure quality and efficacy in all marketing actions and activities;

• Knowledgeable in the Cannabis Act and its regulations, assisting in ensuring AgMedica adheres to all marketing and advertising rules as set by Health Canada, which provide guidance for product marketing plans;

• Design assets from concept to completed project for sales presentations, print collateral, email marketing elements, landing page designs, branding/logo, and digital ads;

• Share ideas by providing and presenting various alternative concepts and recommendations to the marketing team;

• Conceptualize and implement design solutions that help the Marketing Team execute their strategies meet objectives; • Build the AgMedica and Vertical brands by using consistent and effective usage of brand imagery;

• Be creative on projects, including print materials, packaging, advertising, and website – ensure brand is consistent across all projects following regulation guidelines;

• Review proofs for advertising and promotional materials/resources, including website, print media, events and trade show materials;

• Work with senior management and a diverse cross-functional team. Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive atmosphere across marketing, sales and customer service departments;

• Performing other duties and responsibilities as requested.


Other Duties:

• Work in partnership with the Marketing team, working towards individual and team goals, share in performance reviews and career development.

• Master several tasks and timelines at once while being organized and having attention to detail.

• Proactively trouble shoot, problem solve and complete projects independently with appropriate direction and feedback. • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.


Qualifications:

• Post Secondary in a design program, or a related field.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).

• Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Demonstrate necessary comprehension of the English language.


Working Conditions:

While carrying out the responsibilities of the job, the following work environment characteristics are typical of the setting the employee will encounter:

• This position will include working in-house and at times traveling while managing marketing and advertising for AgMedica. However, will generally work in an office environment.

• Work regular hours; nevertheless, may be required to work evenings and on weekends, sometimes at short notice, especially in times of need for AgMedica.

Security Guard (12-month contract to cover a maternity leave)

Reporting to the General Manager the Security Guard will work with a team of security guards in securing and protecting a large cutting-edge commercial grow facility, its components, employees, and cannabis product against theft, vandalism, and invasion, utilizing surveillance technology that ensures the highest level of security. At all times, you must be aware of your surroundings, be alert, and follow the Cannabis Act and its regulations; complying with all federal and provincial laws, including the Criminal Code of Canada and the Private Security and Investigative Services Act.

 

Major Duties:

  • Responsible for administering access credentials, keys and security passcodes / combinations;
  • Operate the electronic access control and door alarm monitoring system, including system programming, functionality, monitoring and response;
  • Administration and operation of the Intercom, Telecommunications and Remote Door Entry Systems
  • Monitor Intrusion Detection System and Alarm Response;
  • Manage the Closed-Circuit Video Surveillance (CCVS) System, ensuring that the system is fully functional, in good repair, and is fit for its intended purpose at all times;
  • Monitor and test backup systems / contingencies that are put in place to ensure the production site, and the security equipment that protects it, will continue to operate under adverse conditions;
  • Have foresight to recognize potential hazards, security issues and surveillance breakdown; ability to critically think, and explore all angles to troubleshoot, using an investigative mindset;
  • Work with security team in performing regular inspections of the interior and exterior facility, including lighting, fences, all exits, vehicle and pedestrian gates and all other detection monitoring systems;
  • Work as part of a team to defuse conflict while ensuring safety of employees, product, and property
  • Ensure that all security incidents which may constitute an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada are immediately reported to the General Manager;
  • Complete security incident reports, including incidents witnessed via the CCVS system or other security (alarm) systems;
  • Maintain and ensure that all security systems within shipping and receiving areas across the site and facility are fully functional and operating effectively;
  • Maintain and ensure that all security systems in office areas outside of cannabis activities are fully functional and operating effectively, reviewing any suspicious activities;
  • Perform searches of employee and contractor belongings to prevent the illicit diversion of cannabis;
  • Follow security protocols as they relate to employee personal safety, confirming all employees follow safekeeping best practices;
  • Provide assistance in cases of medical or other emergencies;
  • Other related tasks as required, to provide a safe, efficient and secure environment for employees, product, and property


Other Duties:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to write detailed, comprehensive reports;
  • Must be discreet and comfortable handling sensitive information;
  • Extremely organized, concise, and strong attention to detail;
  • Work as a team or independently with minimal supervision;
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure;


Requirements:

  • Always adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure safety, efficacy, and quality, in all security protocols and operations;
  • Ensure all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations are followed, including the Criminal Code of Canada and the Private Security and Investigative Services Act;
  • Familiar with and follow the Cannabis Act and its regulations; follow GMP standards;
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn; gowning and area procedures must be followed as per SOP Proper Protective Equipment and SOP Employee Health Hygiene and Dress Code Policy. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary Diploma in Police Foundations/Law and Security and/or any other related discipline
  • Current Security Guard License with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services
  • Previous experience working in security, including involvement with surveillance equipment and software, such as audio and video equipment
  • Demonstrate necessary comprehension of the English language
  • Must be bondable and pass a Health Canada Security Clearance
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR is considered an asset


Physical Demands:

These physical demands are characteristic of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully and safely perform the necessary duties of the job.

 

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to:

  • On occasion, lift weight up to 25kgs push and pull carts
  • Stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, screen monitoring for long periods of time.
