Cultivation Technician

AGMEDICA is currently seeking an experienced Cultivation Technician for their Chatham-Kent facility. Reporting to the Master Grower, the Cultivation Technician will understand and effectively use grow and cultivation techniques for cannabis production to enhance quality, safety and efficacy through all stages of the plant production-cycle.


As Cultivation Technician, you will:

  • Always adhere to AGMEDICA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety in all stages of the grow and cultivation process;
  • Daily, follow all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations for safety during all grow and cultivation operations;
  • Familiar with and follow the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR);
  • Ensure proper sanitation of equipment and production areas, activate fertilisation and irrigation system;
  • Monitor all cannabis products, ensuring product is free from risk of contamination at all stages of production, from vegetative to drying;
  • Familiar with pest and pathogen controls;
  • Have foresight to recognize potential hazards, production problems and contamination risks;
  • Under the guidance of the Quality Assurance team, follow checks and balances for quality, efficacy, and safety; minimizing contamination and waste of product;
  • Working as a member of the cultivation team, perform safe and effective growing, pruning, harvesting, and drying of cannabis product;
  • Maintain a clean working environment, possessing an attitude of high standards of cleanliness.


Position Requirements:

  • Post secondary Diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture and/or any other related discipline an asset.
  • 1-2 years experience in a cannabis, vegetable, or nursery grow operation.
  • Experience in the cultivation of cannabis or other sensitive commercial crops is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate necessary comprehension of mathematics and the English language.
  • Must be able to work under intense lighting, with strong odours, and in humid temperatures.
  • Must be able to work in environments with the presence of pollen, molds, mildew, insects, and plant debris.
  • Must be bondable.

Junior Graphic Designer

AGMEDICA is currently seeking a Junior Graphic Designer Writer for their Chatham, Ontario Operations. The Junior Graphic Designer is responsible for translating ideas and concepts into visual masterpieces, Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, they will support the delivery and execution of creative marketing assets for the medical and recreational businesses of AgMedica. While abiding by company policies and following regulation, the Junior Graphic Designer will work closely with the marketing team to create awareness about the AgMedica brand and assist to create materials and education that appeal to our target audience.

As Junior Graphic Designer you will:


  • Always adhere to AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure quality and efficacy in all marketing actions and activities; 
  • Knowledgeable in the Cannabis Act and its regulations, assisting in ensuring AgMedica adheres to all marketing and advertising rules as set by Health Canada, which provide guidance for product marketing plans;
  • Design assets from concept to completed project for sales presentations, print collateral, email marketing elements, landing page designs, branding/logo, and digital ads;
  • Share ideas by providing and presenting various alternative concepts and recommendations to the marketing team;
  • Conceptualize and implement design solutions that help the Marketing Team execute their strategies meet objectives;
  • Build the AgMedica and Vertical brands by using consistent and effective usage of brand imagery;
  • Be creative on projects, including print materials, packaging, advertising, and website – ensure brand is consistent across all projects following regulation guidelines;
  • Review proofs for advertising and promotional materials/resources, including website, print media, events and trade show materials;
  • Work with senior management and a diverse cross-functional team. Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive atmosphere across marketing, sales and customer service departments;

Position Requirements:

 

  • Post Secondary in a design program, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
  • Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrate necessary comprehension of the English language.

Marketing Content Writer

AGMEDICA is currently seeking a Marketing Content Writer for their Ontario Operations. The Marketing Content Writer is responsible to write clear marketing copy to promote and educate AgMedica’s medical and recreational products and services. The content writer will also be responsible for working closely with our marketing team, subject matter experts, and senior team to ensure that the content adheres to regulation, company messaging and branding and meets the needs of our stakeholders.

As Marketing Content Writer you will:


  • Always adhere to AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure quality and efficacy in all marketing actions and activities;
  • Knowledgeable in the Cannabis Act and its regulations, assisting in ensuring AgMedica adheres to all marketing and advertising rules as set by Health Canada, which provide guidance for product marketing plans, compliance, impact on product launches and client retention; particularly the sections relating to Advertising and Promotion;
  • Be able to write clear marketing copy for web pages, blog posts, newsletter, social media, ad copy, email campaigns etc.
  • Add value by maintaining a cohesive brand; you may work on different brands at a time and ensure the consistency and standardization of the voice and content
  • Regularly edit and provide feedback on content.
  • Become an instrumental member of the content review team and provide review and editing feedback ongoing on any content that will be released externally
  • Review proofs for advertising and promotional materials/resources, including website, print media, events and trade show materials;
  • Work with senior management and a diverse cross-functional team. Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive atmosphere across marketing, sales and customer service departments;

Position Requirements:

 

  • Post Secondary in Marketing and Advertising, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of content writing experience within an enterprise level organization
  • Demonstrated experience producing content for web pages, blog posts, newsletters, social media posts, ad copy, email campaigns, medical brochure, white papers etc. 
  • Possess excellent written communication, editing and proofreading skills. 
  • Possess effective time management and ability to prioritize assignments.

Cultivation Crew Lead

The Crew Leader role involves supervising a crew of Cultivation Technicians, utilizing techniques that ensure quality, efficacy, and safety, adhering to all AGMEDICA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Working under the direction of the Grower Team Lead, perform tasks associated with production of cannabis plants including cutting, transplanting, plant maintenance and nutrient administration. Additionally, directing the cultivation team in the growing process: pruning, flowering, harvesting, and creating barriers for pest and pathogen infestation.


Major Duties:

  • Always adhere to AGMEDICA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety in all stages of the grow and cultivation process;
  • Familiar with and follow the Cannabis Act and its regulations; follow GMP standards;
  • Directed by the Grower Team Lead, assign tasks and work with a team of Cultivation Technicians
  • Clone/prop agent husbandry; care for the newly cut clones
  • Mother selection from clones; selecting plants based off morphology
  • Barcode each cannabis plant, from the vegetative room to harvesting;
  • Ensure proper sanitation of equipment and production areas;
  • Working with the growers, monitor all cannabis products, ensuring product is free from risk of contamination at all stages of cloning;
  • Familiar with pest and pathogen controls to treat for insects, disease, molds, and mildew;
  • Have foresight to recognize potential hazards, production problems and contamination risks;
  • Under the guidance of the Quality Assurance team, follow checks and balances for quality, efficacy, and safety; minimizing contamination and waste of product;
  • Working with the cultivation team, perform safe and effective pest scouting, growing, pruning, and harvesting of cannabis product;
  • Destroy plant debris and waste products; recording the data following the existing approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for destruction of product;
  • Document in the Batch Production Record (BPR) and associated forms for each cannabis lot. Maintain a clean working environment, possessing an attitude of high standards of cleanliness;
  • Perform a “Prestart Line Clearance” of all equipment and areas within production, including grow and drying rooms, using proper cleaner dilution and sanitizer solution;
  • Work with the production team, performing safe cultivation practices and daily work tasks, follow and assign work schedules, along with participating in performance reviews and investigations.
  • Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere across all departments.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by either the Head Grower or Grower Team Lead

 

Position Requirements:


  • Demonstrated leadership, ability to supervise a crew.
  • Experience in a cannabis, farming, vegetable, or nursery grow operation an asset.
  • Experience in and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate necessary comprehension of mathematics and the English language.

General Labourer

The General Labourer role involves working in our Production facilities and construction areas, utilizing work practices that ensure quality, efficacy, and safety, adhering to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Working under the direction of the General Labour Crew Lead, perform all tasks, including heavy lifting, equipment maintenance, loading and unloading of materials, and working as a cooperative member of the operations team.


Major Duties:

  • Always adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety in all stages of the build out phase;
  • Remove debris and trash at construction sites through wheelbarrows and other equipment;
  • Operate mechanical equipment, forklift, skid steer, loaders, etc.;
  • Load and unload building materials and move materials towards working areas;
  • Carpentry, general repairs, and upgrades.
  • Repair, replacement, installation and general maintenance of various facilities equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is in operating condition before use, do safety checks before and after use;
  • Preform daily site maintenance at all construction and production facilities;
  • Preform daily site maintenance tasks to ensure to site is clean;
  • Receive work orders, adhere to work schedule and perform duties with a high degree of quality
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards procedure;
  • Work with the Operations team, performing safe work practices and daily tasks, follow work schedules and maintain good attendance;
  • Must have a strong work ethic with a track record of being reliable and punctual with a positive “can do” attitude;
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines;
  • Manual labour including some heavy lifting, working from ladders, and outdoor tasks.
  • Lift heavy loads and navigate construction job site terrain
  • Provide labor support as needed for specialty crews
  • Identification and reporting of possible site unsafe conditions, work practices and hazards
  • Wear all required PPE
  • Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere across all departments;
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by General Labour Crew Lead.

 

 

Position Requirements:

  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time
  • Able to acquire certification in “Working at Heights” and Forklift operation approved by the Ministry of Labour
  • Must be bondable
  • Experience in and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) considered an asset.
