Graphic Designer

As a member of the Sales and Marketing team, the Graphic Designer is responsible for translating ideas and concepts into visual masterpieces, Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, they will support the delivery and execution of creative marketing assets for the medical and recreational businesses of AgMedica. While abiding by company policies and following regulation, the Graphic Designer will work closely with the marketing team to create awareness about the AgMedica brand and assist to create materials and education that appeal to our target audience.


Major Duties:

• Always adhere to AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure quality and efficacy in all marketing actions and activities;

• Knowledgeable in the Cannabis Act and its regulations, assisting in ensuring AgMedica adheres to all marketing and advertising rules as set by Health Canada, which provide guidance for product marketing plans;

• Design assets from concept to completed project for sales presentations, print collateral, email marketing elements, landing page designs, branding/logo, and digital ads;

• Share ideas by providing and presenting various alternative concepts and recommendations to the marketing team;

• Conceptualize and implement design solutions that help the Marketing Team execute their strategies meet objectives; • Build the AgMedica and Vertical brands by using consistent and effective usage of brand imagery;

• Be creative on projects, including print materials, packaging, advertising, and website – ensure brand is consistent across all projects following regulation guidelines;

• Review proofs for advertising and promotional materials/resources, including website, print media, events and trade show materials;

• Work with senior management and a diverse cross-functional team. Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive atmosphere across marketing, sales and customer service departments;

• Performing other duties and responsibilities as requested.


Other Duties:

• Work in partnership with the Marketing team, working towards individual and team goals, share in performance reviews and career development.

• Master several tasks and timelines at once while being organized and having attention to detail.

Qualifications:

Working Conditions:

• This position will include working in-house and at times traveling while managing marketing and advertising for AgMedica. However, will generally work in an office environment.

Extraction Lead Hand

General Job Description:

The Extraction Lead Hand role involves working in a large cutting-edge commercial grow facility, utilizing techniques that ensure quality, efficacy, and safety, adhering to all AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Working under the direction of the Oil Product Processing Manager and leading a group of Extraction Operators, teach, guide and perform all tasks in the cannabis processing sequence, including producing cannabis derivatives, finished cannabis oil and packaging in compliance with Health Canada and GMP regulations. The focus will be on preparing Cannabis biomass, conversion of Cannabis biomass into Cannabis extract and other duties as assigned by Oil Product Processing Manager.


Major Duties:


  • Lead Hand and Operator in extraction for cannabis oil;
  • Leads the shift to meet targets while maintaining a healthy and safe work environment
  • Dedicated to producing high-quality products that consistently meets specifications
  • Promote high productivity standards, teamwork, ownership, continuous improvement and accountability to all Production personnel
  • Create departmental communication
  • Communicate any production related issue with related parties to minimize down time
  • Take actions to correct any issues and to make improvements
  • Provide Oil Product Processing Manager with general department reports
  • Demonstrate efficient and accurate knowledge of various cannabis oil processing equipment and techniques; utilizing skill-set to produce finished products to meet consumer demands;
  • Oversee the calibration, qualification and maintenance of lab/extraction equipment involved in cannabis oil production; ensure Operators document safety and equipment checks as per approved Standard Operating Procedure;
  • Work with the Oil Product Processing Manager on new processes and on research/development when applicable to enhance AgMedica’s future operations;
  • Optimize oil by performing tests, analyzing data and documenting results.
  • Working as a member of the extraction and processing teams, perform safe and effective grinding, decarboxylation, extraction, weighing and packaging of cannabis product;
  • Record and update inventory on the inventory tracking system used by AgMedica
  • Provide guidance and training to extraction employees;
  • Ensure proper calibration, sanitation and maintenance of equipment in extraction and processing areas, as per approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regularly inspect extraction and processing systems;
  • Working with the extraction and processing teams, monitor all cannabis products, ensuring product is free from risk of contamination at all stages, from bulk to packaging;
  • Have foresight to recognize potential hazards, equipment problems and contamination risks; report findings and/or concerns to Oil Product Processing Manager, or designate;
  • Under the guidance of the Quality Assurance team, follow checks and balances for quality, efficacy, and safety; minimizing contamination and waste of product;
  • Destroy product debris and waste products; recording the data following the approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for destruction of product;
  • Manage the extraction team, perform safe and effective grinding, decarboxylating, extracting, weighing and packaging of cannabis products;
  • Follow and apply appropriate documentation and control measures to prevent the combining of cannabis lots and batches;
  • Maintain a clean working environment, possessing an attitude of high standards of cleanliness;
  • Perform a “Prestart Line Clearance” of all equipment and areas within production, including extraction laboratory, drying and processing rooms, using proper cleaner dilution and sanitizer solution;
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn; gowning and area procedures must be followed as per SOP Proper Protective Equipment and SOP Employee Health Hygiene and Dress Code Policy;
  • Monitor inventory of supplies, alerting appropriate management leads when levels reach the reorder stage;
  • Verify processing/packaging material is accurate and matched to specifications (labels, forms);
  • Ensure all aspects of the packaged product are compliant to specifications (labels, forms) before leaving the packaging area and placed in vault, immediately notify Quality Assurance of any non-conformance packages; 

 

Other Duties:


  • Work with the extraction and processing teams, performing safe practices and daily work tasks, create and follow work schedules, along with participating in performance reviews and investigations.
  • Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere across all departments.

Requirements:

Qualifications:


  • Experience in production in a food/health or pharmaceutical related industry an asset.
  • Experience in and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) considered an asset.
  • Experience in the cultivation of cannabis or other sensitive commercial crops is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate necessary comprehension of mathematics and the English language
  • Must be bondable.

Vice President, Quality Assurance

General Job Description:

Ensure Agmedica operate in accordance with current Health Canada and other jurisdictions as required by regulatory agencies.


Major Duties:

  • Provides leadership, strategy and direction to ensure AGMEDICA Quality systems and programs deliver optimal compliance with regulatory bodies and align to the organization’s customer and patient focus. 
  • Responsible for anticipating and preparing for changing compliance environment and trends, making timely recommendations to the strategic quality/ vision for company. Ensures that all quality operations stay current with regulations and customer requirements combined with anticipating the future state.
  • Develops and communicates a compelling vision and sense of purpose for Quality function / company. Develops both mid and long-term strategies, processes and procedures that advance new, innovative ideas to support change.
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, applying both strategic and tactical expertise to reinforce total quality system thinking that advances compliance to quality standards across operational processes.
  • Provides leadership and direction for significant deviation events that may impact compliance status or represents a significant business risk. 
  • Ensures that all quality operations stay current with regulations, cGMP, FDA expectations and industry trends.
  • Manages critical relationships with government / regulatory agencies in support of business strategy.  
  • Develops and coaches the Quality team and leaders to achieve Company and personal goals aligned to mutual success. 
  • Provides consultation and directional support to product development including clinical trials and regulatory submissions. Ensures compliance to these requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Quality leadership/management experience within a best practice pharmaceutical manufacturing organization including for QA/QC functions at senior management team level. 
  • Bachelor’s degree and preferably a Master’s degree in a Science discipline (MBA desirable).
  • Extensive knowledge of cGMPs, Health Canada and FDA regulatory requirements; has led / represented company on audits and dealings with regulators.
  • Builds effective relationships through credibility and a participative approach to accomplish common goals and objectives. Shares information, ideas and solutions and is open to receiving the same from others. A leader who recognizes when compromise is necessary but not at the expense of product quality.  
  • Proven track record in implementing successful change in QA / QC environments – understands how to manage and develop the people and effectively manage product issues that are impacted by planned change.
