AgMedica is currenlty looking for an experienced Lab Technician for their Chatham- Kent facility. Under the direction of the Tissue Culture Scientist, following aseptic techniques, work with the team in Tissue Culture maintaining records, inventory and equipment. Prepare tissue culture media and follow Good Laboratory Practices. Other duties include research, sub culture plant material, following test protocols, along with sampling techniques.

Major Duties:

  • Always adhere to AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety while applying daily laboratory practices and activities, follow GMP;
  • At all times, during all lab operations follow federal, provincial, and municipal regulations for safety;
  • Know and follow the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR);
  • Work with lab team and perform plant tissue culture procedures, including the transfer and tracking of each mother plant into in vitro rooted plants and barcode labelling under supervision of Tissue Culture Scientist.
  • Prepare media compositions and able to calculate and add appropriate concentrations of vitamins and plant hormones into the media.
  • Perform limited testing under the direction of the Tissue Culture Scientist.
  • Experience working with autoclave to sterilize plant tissue culture media and tools.
  • Wash and sanitize all equipment and tools including workspace, lab equipment, containers, and tissue culture area.
  • Perform maintenance checks on equipment.
  • Have foresight to recognize potential hazards, production problems and contamination risks; can critically think to problem solve before issues arise or elevate, inform manager of any concerns.
  • Self-discipline, function effectively without direct supervision.
  • Keep detailed, organized and accurate records of procedures and outcomes.
  • Maintain a clean working environment, instilling an attitude of high standards of cleanliness in all processes.

Other Duties:

  • Work in partnership with the lab team, advise on daily lab tasks, along with participating in performance reviews.
  • Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere across all departments.
  • High attention to detail in all sampling and lab techniques.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by Tissue Culture Manager and/or Tissue Culture Scientist.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Laboratory Assistant/Technician program or related program.
  • 1-3 years experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience in and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate necessary comprehension of mathematics and the English language.
  • Certified in WHMIS and biosafety is considered an asset.

Title General Labourer

AGMEDICA is currently seeking an experienced General Labourer to work in a large cutting-edge commercial facility, utilizing work practices that ensure quality, efficacy, and safety, adhering to all AGMEDICA Standard Operating Procedures.

As a General Labourer, you will:

  • Always adhere to AGMEDICA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety in all stages of the build out phase.
  • Remove debris and trash at construction sites through wheelbarrows and other equipment;
  • Load and unload building materials and move materials towards working areas;
  • Ensure all equipment is in operating condition before use;
  • Preform daily site maintenance tasks to ensure to site is clean;
  • Adhere to work schedule and perform duties with a high degree of quality;
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards procedure;
  • Work with the Operations team, performing safe work practices and daily tasks, follow work schedules and maintain good attendance;
  • Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere across all departments;
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure;
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor;
  • Adhere to work schedule and perform duties with a high degree of quality.

Position Requirements:

  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Experience in construction is considered an asset;
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time;
  • Must be bondable.

Physical Demands:

  • On occasion, lift weight up to 80lbs, push and pull carts
  • Required to stand for long periods of time, balance, walk, reach with arms and hands, as well as repeated bending, lifting, twisting and stretching
  • May require standing for long periods of time, stand for 7 hours of an 8-hour shift,
  • Capable of climbing on ladders

Working Conditions:

  • The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate to loud, increases when equipment is engaged.
  • Personal Protective Equipment needs to be worn as required
  • Work at heights
  • Work regular hours, however, may be required to work evenings and on weekends, sometimes at short notice, especially in times of need for AGMEDICA.

Title Cloner – Cultivation

AGMEDICA is currently seeking a Cloner – Cultivation for their Chatham-Kent facility.  Reporting to the Master Grower, the Cloner – Cultivation will understand and effectively use cloning and cultivation techniques for cannabis production to enhance quality, safety and efficacy through all stages of the plant cloning/production-cycle

As Cloner – Cultivation, you will:

 

  • Always adhere to AGMEDICA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety in all stages of the grow and cultivation process;
  • Daily, follow all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations for safety during all grow and cultivation operations;
  • Familiar with and follow the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR);
  • Clonal propagation – take cuttings, transplant in rock wool, and maintain clones
  • Clone/prop agent husbandry; care for the newly cut clones
  • Mother selection from clones; selecting plants based off morphology
  • Barcode each cannabis plant, from the vegetative room to the final harvested bulk and dried cannabis products;
  • Ensure proper sanitation of equipment and production areas, activate fertilisation and irrigation systems as directed by Lead Growers;
  • Working with the growers, monitor all cannabis products, ensuring product is free from risk of contamination at all stages of cloning;
  • Familiar with pest and pathogen controls to treat for insects, disease, molds, and mildew;
  • Have foresight to recognize potential hazards, production problems and contamination risks; report findings and/or concerns to lead growers or designate;
  • Under the guidance of the Quality Assurance team, follow checks and balances for quality, efficacy, and safety; minimizing contamination and waste of product;
  • Working as a member of the cultivation team, perform safe and effective pet scouting, growing, pruning, harvesting of cannabis product;
  • Destroy plant debris and waste products; recording the data following the existing approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for destruction of product;
  • Document in the Batch Production Record (BPR) and associated forms for each cannabis lot. Follow and document clone, plant and product transfer across Vegetative, Growing, Flowering, Harvesting, and Drying rooms;

Position Requirements:

  • Post secondary Diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture and/or any other related discipline an asset.
  • 1-2 years experience in a cannabis, farming, vegetable, or nursery grow operation an asset.
  • Must be able to work at heights, under intense lighting, with strong odours, and in humid temperatures.
  • Must be bondable.

AgMedica is currently seeking an experienced Processing Technician for their Chatham-Kent facility. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for working in a large cutting-edge commercial grow facility, utilizing techniques that ensure quality, efficacy, and safety, adhering to all AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Processing Technician will perform all tasks in the cannabis grow, processing and packaging sequence, including transplanting, nutrient administration, the plant life cycle – pruning, flowering, harvesting, drying, and packaging. Other duties may include supporting the grow team with irrigation and LED light monitoring, creating barriers for pest and pathogen infestation, and working as a cooperative member of the operations team.

As Processing Technician, you will:

  • Always adhere to AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety in all stages of the grow, processing, and packaging process;
  • Daily, follow all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations for safety during all grow, cultivation, and packaging operations;
  • Familiar with and follow the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR);
  • Barcode each cannabis plant, from the vegetative room to the final harvested bulk cannabis products;
  • Ensure proper sanitation of equipment and production areas, when requested activate fertilisation and irrigation systems as directed by Master Grower or Assistant Grower;
  • Working with the production and processing teams, monitor all cannabis products;
  • Have foresight to recognize potential hazards, production problems and contamination risks;
  • Under the guidance of the Quality Assurance team, follow checks and balances for quality, efficacy, and safety;
  • Working as a member of the production and processing teams, perform safe and effective growing, pruning, harvesting, drying, weighing and packaging of cannabis product;
  • Destroy plant debris and waste products, recording data;
  • Document in the Batch Production Record (BPR) and associated forms for each cannabis lot;
  • Follow and apply appropriate control measures to prevent the combining of cannabis lots and batches;
  • Maintain a clean working environment, possessing an attitude of high standards of cleanliness;
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn;
  • Monitor inventory of growing, cultivation, and packaging supplies;
  • Verify packaging material is accurate and matched to specifications (labels, forms);
  • Ensure all aspects of the packaged product are compliant to specifications;

Position Requirements:

  • Post secondary in Agriculture/Horticulture and/or any other related discipline is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the cultivation of cannabis or other sensitive commercial crops is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate necessary comprehension of mathematics and the English language.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Must be able to work at heights, under intense lighting, with strong odours, and in warm temperatures.
  • Must be able to work in environments with the presence of pollen, molds, mildew, insects, and plant debris.

As Medical Care Liaison, you will:

  • Always adhere to AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety in all education and sales activities;
  • Understand and follow the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR);
  • Oversee all educational and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission of AgMedica;
  • Achieve sales growth in accordance with established, budgeted goal and overall Plan of Action;
  • Complete regular and effective customer visits to all targeted contacts in the territory;
  • Routinely service clinics, hospitals, pharmacies and other public health centers across the territory to educate and obtain maximum support for AgMedica products;
  • Identify and service select retail outlets in the territory, obtaining maximum distribution of company products and information on the purchases of company and competitive products;
  • Attend and successfully complete training of products to understand the various aspects of medical cannabis;
  • Educate and provide in-service events regarding AgMedica’s products to targeted Specialists, General & Family Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists and other allied health care professionals across the community setting;
  • Prepare and maintain records for all customer calls, new leads and progress status of calls;
  • Emphasize product features and benefits based on analysis of customer’s needs, level of adoption and general understanding of the cannabis class;
  • Attend sales meetings, conference calls, training sessions and trade shows as required;
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop strategies and implement brand tactics;
  • Pursue continuous learning and professional development, stay up to date with the latest clinical information in the medical cannabis field;
  • Stay abreast of AgMedica product developments, and provide frequent updates and training to the client;
  • Appropriately review emerging data with Healthcare Professionals;
  • Provide company with an understanding of regional Healthcare Professionals.

Position Requirements:

  • Post-secondary in health care is required and/or any other related discipline.
  • 3-5 years working experience as a healthcare professional in the areas of pharmaceutical sales, nursing or other health care field.
  • Knowledge of medicinal cannabis, its product attributes with regards to treatment of disease, pain, etc., and the industry is considered an asset.
  • Familiar with study protocol and data analysis, preference given to individuals with knowledge of the latest relevant evidence-based medical information in the cannabis class.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License.
