AgMedica is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk who will build on the existing accounting strategy and work with a dynamic group of team-leads to process vendor transactions and issue payments. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible to perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

As the Accounts Payable Clerk, you will:

  • Always adhere to AGMEDICA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure safety, efficacy, and quality, in all accounting practises;
  • Familiar with and follow the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR), including Bill C-45;
  • Determine and follow effective and efficient accounting guidelines; focusing on costs and budget management while ensuring data entry accuracy;
  • Review and verify invoices and payment requests;
  • Sort, code and match invoices;
  • Process invoices into the AgMedica financial system, coding and expensing appropriately;
  • Track expenses and process expense reports;
  • Prepare and process vendor cheque runs;
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions with vendor statements;
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues;
  • Maintain vendor files;
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries;
  • Produce monthly reports and accruals;
  • Assist with month end / year end closing;
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits;
  • Maintain open communication with Purchasing Department, ensure package slips and invoices are received and processed in a timely manner to ensure vendor accounts are maintained in good standing;
  • Perform tasks in compliance with health and safety guidelines;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager.

 Other Duties:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Extremely organized, concise, a multi tasker with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organize, attend and share in employee meetings; participate in performance reviews.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary in accounting, and/or any other related discipline;
  • 1-3 years of experience in an accounts payable position; preference given to those with experience working in a large-scale environment;
  • Experience with ERP systems is an asset;
  • Strong administrative background;
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures;
  • Demonstrate necessary comprehension of the English language;
  • Must be bondable.

Title Purchasing Coordinator
Details

AgMedica is looking for an experienced Purchasing Coordinator who can continue to develop our procurement policies, procedures, and strategy. The Purchasing Coordinator will build on the existing procurement strategy and work with a dynamic group of team-leads to manage the supply and purchasing of products and equipment, including sourcing strategies. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for best practices in vendor management, including initiating and maintaining partnerships, sourcing new products, negotiating terms for effective cost management, delivery requirements and timelines.

 Major Duties:

  • Determine and follow effective, efficient purchasing guidelines, focusing on inventory and budget management, order accuracy, and logistics;
  • Source and consult with vendors, in a timely manner, for general and specialized products or equipment, establish mutually beneficial relationships, negotiate pricing, contract terms and conditions;
  • Work with vendor agents: determine delivery terms, schedules, and shipping company specifications;
  • Problem resolution: liaise with vendors and suppliers to resolve issues;
  • Regular follow-up correspondence with vendor agents; track status of deliveries;
  • Assemble purchase requisitions and manage approval of purchase orders, input information into AgMedica ERP system.
  • Review shipment against packing slip and purchase order;
  • Maintain open communication with Finance Department, ensure package slips and invoices are received by Accounts Payable to ensure vendor accounts are maintained in good standing;
  • Work closely with all departments to ensure inventory levels are sufficient, keep department managers informed on vendor inventory shortages or delayed delivery timelines;
  • Under the guidance of the Quality Assurance and Regulatory departments, ensure various products and vendors are approved;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager.

Title Cloner – Cultivation

AGMEDICA is currently seeking a Cloner – Cultivation for their Chatham-Kent facility.  Reporting to the Master Grower, the Cloner – Cultivation will understand and effectively use cloning and cultivation techniques for cannabis production to enhance quality, safety and efficacy through all stages of the plant cloning/production-cycle

As Cloner – Cultivation, you will:

 

  • Always adhere to AGMEDICA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety in all stages of the grow and cultivation process;
  • Daily, follow all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations for safety during all grow and cultivation operations;
  • Familiar with and follow the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR);
  • Clonal propagation – take cuttings, transplant in rock wool, and maintain clones
  • Clone/prop agent husbandry; care for the newly cut clones
  • Mother selection from clones; selecting plants based off morphology
  • Barcode each cannabis plant, from the vegetative room to the final harvested bulk and dried cannabis products;
  • Ensure proper sanitation of equipment and production areas, activate fertilisation and irrigation systems as directed by Lead Growers;
  • Working with the growers, monitor all cannabis products, ensuring product is free from risk of contamination at all stages of cloning;
  • Familiar with pest and pathogen controls to treat for insects, disease, molds, and mildew;
  • Have foresight to recognize potential hazards, production problems and contamination risks; report findings and/or concerns to lead growers or designate;
  • Under the guidance of the Quality Assurance team, follow checks and balances for quality, efficacy, and safety; minimizing contamination and waste of product;
  • Working as a member of the cultivation team, perform safe and effective pet scouting, growing, pruning, harvesting of cannabis product;
  • Destroy plant debris and waste products; recording the data following the existing approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for destruction of product;
  • Document in the Batch Production Record (BPR) and associated forms for each cannabis lot. Follow and document clone, plant and product transfer across Vegetative, Growing, Flowering, Harvesting, and Drying rooms;

Position Requirements:

  • Post secondary Diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture and/or any other related discipline an asset.
  • 1-2 years experience in a cannabis, farming, vegetable, or nursery grow operation an asset.
  • Must be able to work at heights, under intense lighting, with strong odours, and in humid temperatures.
  • Must be bondable.
