AgMedica is currently seeking an experienced General Manager for their Chatham-Kent facility. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing a large cutting-edge cannabis operating facility, utilizing comprehensive techniques that ensure quality, efficacy, and safety, while adhering to all AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The General Manager will provide leadership, oversite, and management to the entire Operations Department, including teams in Growing, Processing, Packaging, Tissue Culture, and Maintenance. They will provide efficient and effective management of resources and personnel, handle the day-to-day functions of the facility, ensure that all actions performed in the facility are compatible with highly developed systems, along with budget and cost management.

As General Manager, you will:

  • Always adhere to AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety in all processes;
  • Ensure all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations for safety are followed by all operational teams;
  • Understand and follow the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR);
  • Oversee all operations and business activities;
  • Administer daily operations; oversee and manage all growing, processing, packaging, and maintenance teams;
  • Create, review, and implement business procedures; lead in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment, and contracting with third-party vendors;
  • Establish yield production targets to meet revenue projections, prepare annual and quarterly budgets, and effectively manage expenses;
  • Have foresight to recognize potential hazards, production problems and contamination risks; proactively trouble shoot, problem solve and complete projects;
  • Work with the Quality Assurance team, following their direction and guidance of checks and balances;
  • Lead and motivate employee production and engagement;
  • In coordination with the Human Resource Manager, hire, train and manage department employees; comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure;
  • Work in partnership with all operational teams, attend all meetings, deliver job training, advise on work schedules and daily work tasks, along with providing performance reviews;
  • Work with senior management and a diverse cross-functional team. Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive atmosphere across Administrative, Quality Assurance and Sales and Marketing departments;
  • Master several tasks and timelines at once while being organized and having attention to detail;
  • Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere across all areas.

Position Requirements:

  • Post-secondary in Business Administration and/or any other related discipline.
  • 3-5 years’ experience managing a large commercial operation or pharmaceutical facility.
  • Proven entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with cannabis or other sensitive commercial crops is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate or provide evidence of necessary comprehension of mathematics and the English language.
  • Must be bondable and pass a Health Canada Security Clearance.

AgMedica is seeking a self-driven individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment to join our growing team as a full-time Medical Care Liaison for Windsor, Chatham, Sarnia and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for creating and developing a comprehensive plan to establish the company’s brands within the assigned territory through strategic coverage of targeted healthcare professional contacts and potential sales outlets. By providing cannabis education, training and customer service, you are someone who can excel at building trust and maintaining strong ties with the medical community, clinics, pharmacies, hospitals, other health focused centers while also increasing accessibility and recommendation of AgMedica products to maximize sales growth.

As Medical Care Liaison, you will:

  • Always adhere to AgMedica Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to obtain quality, efficacy and safety in all education and sales activities;
  • Understand and follow the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR);
  • Oversee all educational and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission of AgMedica;
  • Achieve sales growth in accordance with established, budgeted goal and overall Plan of Action;
  • Complete regular and effective customer visits to all targeted contacts in the territory;
  • Routinely service clinics, hospitals, pharmacies and other public health centers across the territory to educate and obtain maximum support for AgMedica products;
  • Identify and service select retail outlets in the territory, obtaining maximum distribution of company products and information on the purchases of company and competitive products;
  • Attend and successfully complete training of products to understand the various aspects of medical cannabis;
  • Educate and provide in-service events regarding AgMedica’s products to targeted Specialists, General & Family Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists and other allied health care professionals across the community setting;
  • Prepare and maintain records for all customer calls, new leads and progress status of calls;
  • Emphasize product features and benefits based on analysis of customer’s needs, level of adoption and general understanding of the cannabis class;
  • Attend sales meetings, conference calls, training sessions and trade shows as required;
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop strategies and implement brand tactics;
  • Pursue continuous learning and professional development, stay up to date with the latest clinical information in the medical cannabis field;
  • Stay abreast of AgMedica product developments, and provide frequent updates and training to the client;
  • Appropriately review emerging data with Healthcare Professionals;
  • Provide company with an understanding of regional Healthcare Professionals.

Position Requirements:

  • Post-secondary in health care is required and/or any other related discipline.
  • 3-5 years working experience as a healthcare professional in the areas of pharmaceutical sales, nursing or other health care field.
  • Knowledge of medicinal cannabis, its product attributes with regards to treatment of disease, pain, etc., and the industry is considered an asset.
  • Familiar with study protocol and data analysis, preference given to individuals with knowledge of the latest relevant evidence-based medical information in the cannabis class.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License.
